 David Cook

David was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma from a ranching and farming family background.  He was actively involved in 4-H and FFA.  He moved to Arizona in 1985 and graduated from Miami High school in 1986.  He later went to work for the Arizona Department of Corrections where he had several achievements and retired after twelve years reaching the rank of Sergeant.  He left state service to begin another career in Ranching and Ranch Management in the Year 2000.  David, who started his own hay business in the 90's servicing local ranchers, started DC Cattle Company L.L.C. with his wife Diana.  David and Diana have two children, David Jr. and Maria.  They have grown their small business from just David as the single employee, to today's peak of having their own grazing allotments and ranching operations in Southern Gila County.
 
David is a proud graduate of Arizona State University as a Certified Public Manager.  He is involved as the Vice President of the Gila County Cattle Growers, Vice-Chairman of Federal Lands and Forest Planning for the Arizona Cattle Growers Association, Board Member of the Southern Gila County Economic Development Corporation, and President of the Cobre Valley Republican Club. He has been involved as a past Globe-Miami Chamber of Commerce Board Member, Chairman of SGCEDC – Public Lands Group, and President of the Gila County Sheriff’s Posse.

Recently David and Diana have been recognized on the State and National levels of the beef industry.  They received an Environmental Stewardship Award from the Arizona Cattle Growers and National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.  They also received a “vision” award from the National Cattlemen’s Association for their work on Riparian Monitoring collaborative work.
